This cozy town fascinates me with its breathtaking views, colorful houses, and rich history.

It is the perfect destination for families with kids, solo travelers and also couples looking for some romance.

Getting to Riomaggiore

Reaching Riomaggiore is an adventure in itself.

Whether by train or boat, each mode of transport offers a unique perspective of the Cinque Terre coast. 

The train journey is particularly scenic, with tunnels and bridges revealing stunning views of the coastline and terraced vineyards.

I chose to go by local train from La Spezia and the I was really impressed by the scenery. The regional train goes from La Spezia to Levante and stops in all Cinque Terre Towns: Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Moterosso al Mare.

The train ride between La Spezia and Riomaggiore lasts around 20 minutes.

The good news is that Riomaggiore offers overnight stays for every budget.

Cozy Bed and Breakfasts

I discover cozy bed and breakfasts that offer a homely and authentic stay. 

These accommodations provide a perfect blend of comfort and local charm.

My favorite one was Affittacamere Le Giare, located close to the city center and about 500 meters from the train station.

My room had a balcony overlooking the village, and it was clean and quite large. 

The only downside was that we had to climb a few stairs to get to it, which is normal for most accommodations in the area.

Beachfront Stays: Hotels with a View

For those looking for a beachfront stay, I recommend Perla del Marinaio, a beautiful accommodation just 300 meters from the beach.

Our room was comfortable and spacious and the host do his best to make our stay excellent.

We found a bottle of local wine in the room, which was extremely good.
